Inspired by the character I created for Arawnna's Power Character Competition. I actually liked this character so much and the story I made surrounding his origins etc..,. I decided to explore him and evolve the quick introduction into a film.
One of my trademarks is a custom song which I make for every movie. This one was inspired by the setting - medieval period South America. I decided to make Padre's theme song a ballad based off the pan flute - kind of like a Mayan type song. I fashioned the instrument sounds to match those that would be period at the time. I came up with a light, haunting melody using
Bark flute - similar to the pan
Gourd guitar like instrument
A bell like instrument similar to the marimba
Cloister style bells
Wooden lute.
Monastery chorals
The song was addictive when finished. I listened to it all the time. The person I live with has been humming the tune as well. Then I made lyrics to it and added vocals - to the dogs' delight now they have something else to bark at.
